Cristina Llerena was born in Tampico, Mexico in 1983. She is a freelance photographer currently based out of Tampico, Mexico. Cristina shoots commercial as well as personal projects. She holds a BFA in Photography from the Allende Institute in San Miguel Allende, Mexico.

Since 2004 Cristina has been involved as a participant and teaching assistant with the Santa Fe Workshops in their San Miguel Allende programs as well as coordinated and assisted various National Geographic Expeditions through Mexico. She has assisted photographer Raul Touzon on assignments for prestigious publications and on his private photography workshops. All of this has had a strong impact in her vision and image creation.

Her work has been exhibited in FotoSeptiembre 2007 and The Fine Art Institute ”El Nigromante”.

She is a member of the Photo Expeditions’ Expert team with photographers Raul Touzon, Sebastian Belaustegui, David Alan Harvey, Marcela Taboada, Eniac Martinez, Selma Fernandez and Eloisa Nisimura.

Her images are represented by the european agency Arcangel Images.
